The new Alpha Pro snowshoe was developed to provide a more precise fit for fast and efficient movement across snow covered terrain. The Alpha is a compact design built around a very lightweight - low profile shape with a tapered tail. This allows for a more natural stride pattern for power walking or jogging. Our new Quick-Fit binding system provides a secure wrap around the foot and allows for one-handed closure and release from the binding. The steel crampons give you a better bite for more traction.

Frame Design

The Alpha snowshoes are constructed with a one-piece aircraft aluminum frame. This model uses a smaller diameter extrusion which is a thicker wall 7071 grade material. The frame design is lighter weight and extremely strong for a more aggressive user. It has a lower profile with a tapered tail to move efficiently across the snow.

Premium Flex-Deck

The Alpha models are built with a durable polyethylene deck material for extra strength and rebound in cold weather. The deck is attached to the frame with suspension straps which add some cushion when hiking on ice or hard snow. The tip and tail bumpers add some protection to the snowshoe frame when breaking a trail though the woods.

Upgraded Hardware

All Summit Snowshoes are carefully assembled with aluminum and stainless steel hardware which is much stronger and will never degrade or corrode from extended use. Most of the components are attached with nuts and bolts so they are easier to replace without special tools. We stock replacement parts for every model - call us for service.

Quick-Fit Bindings

The Alpha was engineered with a high performance binding system made with a unique polyurethane sleeve which wraps more securely around your boots. The Quick-Fit Closure System can be operated with one hand for easier entry and exit. This binding has a free hinging pivot bar on the underside which helps to keep the snowshoe level with the trail.

Posi-Track Crampons

The crampon is produced with an incredibility strong carbon steel and powder coated to prevent corrosion. The teeth are narrower and sharp enough to bite into any type of snow conditions. The side teeth improve the grip when traversing across steep terrain and and stability without adding weight. These crampons are dependable and easy to replace.

Free Storage Bag

This model includes and well-designed storage bag constructed with heavy Cordura nylon which is reinforced in the binding area. The bag is vented so your snowshoes will dry out quickly. We use heavy nylon webbing for carrying straps along with the adjustable shoulder strap. The 2-way zipper makes it easy to stow away your Summit Snowshoes after each use.
