Frame Design
The Tundra snowshoes are constructed with a one-piece aircraft aluminum frame. This model has been designed with lighter weight tubing using the highest grade 6063 alloy. The frame shape has a versatile profile for good performance on packed down trails and better flotation in deep snow. These are lightweight and maneuverable.
Ultra-Lite Flex Deck
The Tundra model is built with Ultra-Lite Polyethylene deck material which has been trimmed down to reduce weight. The decks are contour wrapped directly around the tubular frame to reduce the weight of the snowshoe. The front of the snowshoe is covered with a high grade of PE deck material strong enough to break your own trails through deep snow.
Upgraded Hardware
All Summit snowshoes are carefully assembled with aluminum and stainless-steel hardware which is much stronger and will never degrade or corrode from extended use. Most of the components are attached with nuts and bolts so they are easier to replace without special tools. We stock replacement parts for every model – call us for service.
ZE Lock Ratchet Binding
The Tundra series snowshoes are engineered with a flexible Polyurethane binding sleeve which wraps the boot and holds your foot in place. The EZ Lock closure system has a wide range of adjustability and ratchet buckles that are easy to operate. The free hinging pivot bar is stainless steel and reinforced with Hypalon for added strength.
K-Nine Crampons
This aluminum crampon is a laser-cut design with large profile teeth which add grip for steep slopes. The side teeth help to prevent side slippage when traversing uneven terrain. The Hypalon deck straps allow the bindings to adapt and articulate for more stability. The heel crampon is laser-cut high grade aluminum which will add traction when climbing hills or breaking new trails.
Free Storage Bag
This model includes a well-designed storage bag constructed with heavy Cordura nylon which is reinforced in the binding area. The bag is vented so your snowshoes will dry out quickly. We use heavy nylon webbing for carrying straps along with the adjustable shoulder strap. The 2-way zipper makes it easy to stow away your snowshoes after each use.
